Shikhar Dhawan comes in support of this Indian batter; feels he needs to be backed

Indian cricket team will be playing a three-game ODI series against Bangladesh starting from 4th December.

Indian cricket team opening batter Shikhar Dhawan has made a statement regarding the Indian batters who needs to be backed in the team despite their poor form. Shikhar Dhawan just lost an ODI series as a captain in New Zealand by 1-0. The three-game series went in Kiwis’ favour.

The Indian opener wasn’t happy seeing team’s performance against New Zealand in this ODI series. He was concerned of India’s batting and bowling in this series and said they were behind New Zealand in every aspect. New Zealand had a great series despite the second and third game was interrupted by rain.

There were fans questioning about Rishabh Pant’s form. Rishabh Pant didn’t have a great series against New Zealand also he is not in a great touch in white-ball cricket currently. Despite this, Shikhar Dhawan feels Rishabh Pant needs to be backed. The opener thinks the wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant needs time and he is an important player of the team.

“Sometimes you got to wait for your chances, because the other player has done well and we know based on his (Rishabh Pant’s) skill that he’s a match-winner. So you need to back him when he’s not doing well,” said Shikhar Dhawan as reported by ESPNcricinfo.com.
