Shafali Verma reclaims her top spot in ICC Women’s T20 rankings

Indian cricketer, Shafali Verma has reclaimed her No.1 position on the ICC Women’s T20 rankings for batters on Tuesday. While Shafali’s opening partner Smriti Mandhana spot dropped to the fourth position.

The Australian duo of Beth Mooney and Meg Lanning has held the second and third spot of the rankings respectively. The sixth position has also been occupied by another Australian, Alyssa Healy. The fifth and seventh spots have been occupied by two New Zealand players, Sophie Divine and Suzie Bates respectively.

Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu has gained six positions to break the top 10 after her incredible performance in Commonwealth game qualifiers, where she accumulated 221 runs with an outstanding average rate of 55.25 and strike rate of 185.71. She has currently acquired the eighth position in the rankings.

English Cricketer, Danni Wyatt has also risen three places to the thirteenth position after recently having an amazing score of 70 against Australia in the first T20 of Women’s Ashes. Whereas, Australia’s Tahlia McGrath acquires 29 places in the rankings to reach up to the 28th position.

In the bowler’s rankings, the top three remained constant with England’s Sophie Ecclestone and Sarah Glenn holding the first and second places respectively, while the third spot was held by South Africa’s Shabnim Ismail.

India’s Deepti Sharma has acquired one position up to overcome Australia’s Megan Schutt from fourth place.
