Selection headache for the Indian Selectors before T20 World Cup kicks off

Indian selectors face a backlash of problems as they find it difficult to finalise their squad with a decision to be taken today.

While captain Virat Kohli and his men are busy in the test series against England, the Indian team selection for the upcoming ICC T20 tournament has now become a tougher job for the national selectors as they face a major headache in finding the right combination and the fulfilment of the entire squad.

Before the rules, only the final 15 man squad will travel to UAE representing India. Selection committee member Chetan Sharma alongside the fellow selectors and captain Kohli will soon have a video call press conference regarding the team selection as it will be crucial considering the amount of talent seen in every player.

They will head into this tournament being the favourites to win it as they have a strong team. The ICC T20 tournament will be played from October to November held in Dubai and UAE. The major success of the young players has now bought a headache for the selectors to choose the right player for the team. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) want to finalise the T20 squad before the 10th of September so that the players can get adequate rest for the preparation of the tournament. There might be a chance for either Prithvi Shaw or Ishan Kishan to be given or they might be kept as reserve players. A round performance by Shardul Thakur has now put Hardik Pandya’s position at risk, it’s gonna be difficult to drop him off the squad.

India’s likely T20 squad could be Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Shardul Thakur, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Mohammad Shami.
