Anrich Nortje didn’t have sheer luck when he faced Ruturaj Gaikwad in the third T20I encounter of India versus South Africa. The swashbuckling opener batsman derided Nortje’s pace as he smashed the speedster for nearly five boundaries that entered his name as four boundaries (One counted as leg-bye). Rahul Dravid had earlier clarified that a maximum number of chances would be thrown to the initial playing XI. Ruturaj Gaikwad is one of the leading faces that was ahead of the benched players to be tested.

Ruturaj didn’t disappoint either. He took off at the right time and meant business from the ball in one of the matches. South African pacers were at the helm, steering matches their way, but the opener’s fifty and disciplined bowling effort by India won Rishabh Pant his first match as an Indian skipper. Ruturaj Gaikwad has entered a record with this achievement, being counted as the fifth player to do so. Alongside Ruturaj Gaikwad’s record of smashing four boundaries in an over, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, and Suresh Raina, too, have a record of scoring four boundaries in an over.
