Ruturaj Gaikwad comes out of Isolation as he recovers from COVID-19

India has anyways won the ODI series by 2-0 but will still be looking forward to whitewash West Indies in tomorrow’s match starting from 1:30 pm. 

Indian cricketer, Ruturaj Gaikwad, who tested positive for COVID-19, has recovered and is out of isolation. However, Captain Rohit Sharma has already cleared that Indian opening batsman, Shikhar Dhawan is likely to open the innings with him in the last match of the three-match ODI series against West Indies on February 11.

Ruturaj had a fantastic run in the home T20 series against New Zealand but did not get an opportunity to play against South Africa series. He tested positive for the virus just four days before the start of the West Indies series.

Along with Ruturaj, Dhawan, and Shreyas Iyer also became a victim of this COVID-19 outbreak and tested positive for the virus during their compulsory mandatory isolation period before the start of the West Indies series. Indian pacer, Navdeep Saini who was the backup for the squad also tested positive for COVID-19.

So far, Ruturaj is not a part of the upcoming three-match T20 series against the West Indies starting from February 16. He will be now looking forward to playing for his home state in the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2021-22.
