Rohit Sharma pass fitness test to play the West Indies series

Newly appointed limit-over captain Rohit is all set to play in the West Indies series after clearing the fitness test.

Indian limited-overs captain Rohit Sharma feels fit as he clears the fitness test ahead of the West Indies tour which is scheduled in February. West Indies will be touring India for ODIs and T20s which will be played in Ahmedabad and Kolkata.

Beginning on February 6, skipper Rohit is all set to lead the team for the limit-over format series which includes ODIs and T20Is. Rohit was ruled out of the South African ODI series due to an injury. Rohit suffered from a hamstring injury while playing against New Zealand in the home series.

As per the reports of ANI Rohit has passed the fitness test which was taken at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Bengaluru.

Jasprit Bumrah is likely to get rested, keeping in mind the continuous gameplay in international cricket, specifically against South Africa as he featured in all the games against the Proteas. The sources of ANI added to the report that BCCI might be looking to give the Contract- group A+ category player some rest.

BCCI has officially announced the change in venues, amid the COVID-19 breakdown across the country. The pandemic has resulted in the limitation of venue changes as it assists the people involved in the series to stay more secure in the mandatory bio-bubble.

The three One Day Internationals are set to play in the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad while Eden Gardens, Kolkata will be hosting the shortest format of international cricket – 3 T20Is.
