In a review meeting, the BCCI made numerous changes and discussed the Indian cricket roadmap with the 2023 ODI World Cup in mind.

As of now Hardik Pandya can be witnessed as a backup captain for team India and might lead several T20 series for the year 2023 and more significantly Hardik Pandya is likely to become the official T20 captain for team India.

Reportedly the BCCI review meeting discussed about the T20 format’s captaincy while keeping the major concerns over team India’s poor performance in the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup.

In 2023, India will play just 17 T20 matches. However, India will be heavily involved in ODIs to get ready for the ODI World Cup. Along with the WC, India will compete in close to 35 ODIs. T20s will therefore feature more rotations than ODIs due to this.
