Rohit Sharma joins this elite list he becomes only the 8th Indian to achieve this milestone

Rohit Sharma has reached yet another career milestone, joining an elite group led by Sachin Tendulkar. Despite not playing a big knock, India captain Rohit Sharma’s contribution of 30 off 17 balls was enough to see him join this elite list.

The India opener has become the 8th batsman to score more than 10000 runs in Asia. Rohit has scored a total of 17027 runs in his career thus far. Out of this, he has hit 10026 runs in Asian conditions. The elite list is topped by Sachin Tendulkar, who finished his career with 34357 runs. Rohit has scored 3379 runs in 49 Tests, 9795 runs in 242 One-Day Internationals, and 3853 runs in 148 Twenty20 Internationals.

Out of these, he scored 21741 runs in Asia. He hit 71 centuries and 97 half-centuries in the sub-continent. Tendulkar is followed by Kumar Sangakkara, who scored 18423 runs in Asia. Following Sangakkara are Mahela Jayawardene (17386), Virat Kohli (14694*), Sanath Jayasuriya (13757), Rahul Dravid (13497), Virender Sehwag (12155), Younis Khan (12073), Inzamam-ul-Haq (12070), TM Dilshan (11567), MS Dhoni (10840), Sourav Ganguly (10709), Aravinda de Silva (10589), Mohammed Azharuddin (10558) and Mohammad Yousuf (10059).
