Rohit leads T20 team against West Indies, spinner Kuldeep Yadav back in the squad

BCCI officially announced its T20I team against West Indies.

BCCI on Wednesday announced its T20 squad for the series to be played against West Indies. The three-match T20 will be played in Eden Gardens, Kolkata. All three games will be played in the same venue, amid the COVID-19 pandemic across the country which might hamper the “bio-bubble” and “ security concerns”.

With Rohit leading the team, Ravi Bishnoi gets a chance in the T20 squad while Kuldeep Yadav returns in the squad.

Rohit Sharma was announced fit after the fitness test held at the National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru, and is set to lead team India while KL Rahul will be assisting as the Vice-Captain for the team. Senior player Kuldeep Yadav makes a comeback in the T20 squad while Ravi Bishnoi gets his maiden call for the West Indies series too.

BCCI suggests giving adequate rest to veteran pacers. – Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami as the duo played throughout the South Africa series. Axar Patel seems available for the T20 series while Ravendra Jadeja will be ruled out from the white-ball series due to his knee injury. Avesh Khan has also been called up for the West Indies series along with Harshal Patel.

Virat Kohli remains in the T20 squad, as well as Washington Sundar seems available for the T20I games against West Indies
