A new era is about to begin in the history of Indian cricket as they look to take on the New Zealand team in the upcoming days. After getting knocked out of the T20 World Cup 2021, the team is all set to take shape under their new Coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma. The group also has a new Vice-Captain in the form of KL Rahul, who is bubbling with confidence and excitement to get things underway against New Zealand.
Talking about the new coach and captain, Rahul said, “I’ve been very fortunate I have known Rahul Dravid for a long time. As a youngster, I did pick his brain and try and understand the game better and understand the art of batting better from him. Has been very helpful to all of us back home in Karnataka. As a coach… we all know what a big name he is and the kind of things he has done for our country,” reports PTI.
Further, throwing light on Rohit Sharma as a captain, Rahul said, “he (Rohit) has a great understanding of the game, and tactically he is really good, and that is why he has been able to achieve what he has a leader (in IPL).”
The team India will be looking to put the departure from the T20 World Cup behind them. Under the new coach and leader in Rohit Sharma, they will be looking for a change in fate in the ICC tournaments. The next ICC T20 World Cup will take place in Australia in 2022. The Indian team will try on new templates and solidify something that can win them the tournament next year.
