Rishabh Pant’s salary increased to Rs 5 crore as BCCI promotes Indian wicketkeeper to Grade A

Rishabh Pant has been promoted to Grade A in the BCCI’s central contracts list for the 2024-25 season, entitling him to an annual salary of Rs 5 crore. This marks a significant upgrade for the Indian wicketkeeper-batter, who continues his recovery and gradual return to competitive cricket.

Pant was previously not in the top two contract brackets but has now joined the likes of KL Rahul, Mohammed Siraj, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and Mohammed Shami in Grade A. His elevation reflects the BCCI’s recognition of his importance in India’s plans across formats.

The BCCI’s Annual Player Contracts for 2024-25 are valid from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025. The A+ grade remains unchanged and includes Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja, with each earning Rs 7 crore.

Pant’s promotion comes at a time when fellow wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan has been placed in Grade C, earning Rs 1 crore, despite making a comeback to the contract list after being dropped last season.
