Australian pacer Kane Richardson has opted out of the limited overs series against India which starts from 27th November. He has informed Cricket Australia that he wishes to spend time with his wife and new born son.
Cricket Australia released a statement confirming this and said that they fully support this decision. They also added in their statement that they always look after wellbeing of players and their families as well. Earlier this year Kane Richardson also pulled himself out of the IPL. He was part of the RCB squad. He gave the same reason for pulling out of the tournament as he wished to spend more time with his wife who back then was expecting a child. Adam Zampa replaced him in the RCB squad.
Cricket Australia also named replacement for Richardson in the statement. They got the pacer from Perth, Andrew Tye to replace him. In the official release they said that Tye always has positive attitude which he brings to the dressing room as well. He had a pretty decent tour in England as well earlier this year.
Due to recent increase of COVID-19 cases in Adelaide, Cricket Australia has also added Josh Philippe and D’Arcy Short to the squad. They will train with the Australian team in Sydney before joining their respective Big Bash teams.
