
Indian cricket team defeated by Sri Lanka in the second T20I which was played on Thursday, 5th January at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. The series is now levelled at 1-1 after Sri Lanka beat India by 16 runs. The Indian team did so many mistakes in the game which led to the loss.
Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya didn’t had a good game with bat and bowl. It was a bit close game. There are mistakes done in the game by Indian team which made the three-game T20I series level at 1-1.
Reasons why India lost the second T20I against Sri Lanka:
1. Poor fielding: Indian team’s fielding was not up to the mark which gave many opportunities to Sri Lanka in the game. Sri Lanka scored 207 runs which was because of India’s poor performance in field.
2. No balls: India bowled 7 no balls in the game which means Sri Lanka got 7 freehits. This was one of the worst bowling performances from India while playing at home.
3. Failure of top order: The top order batters couldn’t score much runs which made India very behind in the chase. Sri Lanka set the target of 207 runs and thus India needed some top order batters to go long but Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Rahul Tripathi, Hardik Pandya got dismissed early.
