The underdogs Afghanistan has performed exceptionally well at the ODI World Cup 2023 and has proved that they are an emerging team in the world of cricket. The team recently got inspiration from the God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, before their clash against the mighty Aussies.
Afghanistan star spinner Rashid Khan expressed his gratitude towards the Indian star cricketer for meeting him and his team.
“It is a special moment for everyone. Meeting him on a very special occasion here in one Wankhede, I think it’s a different feeling. And definitely, it’s given lots of positive energy to the guys and the team. It’s a kind of dream for lots of players to meet him,” Rashid told cricketworldcup.com.
“I just want to say thank you so much for coming here. I know lots of people start cricket watching you, and you are a role model for everyone back home in Afghanistan.” Rashid added.
Afghanistan will face Australia, followed by South Africa, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday.
