Punjab Kings batsman David Malan is committed to the IPL and is not thinking about the T20 World Cup for now

The English left-handed batsman, Dawid Malan has said that he remains committed to the IPL 2021 and he is currently not thinking about the T20 World Cup which will be played in October this year.

Dawid Malan, who is currently ranked first in the ICC T20I batsman rankings has said in an interview that at the moment he is committed to the Indian Premier League 2021 season. The English left-handed batsman plays for the Punjab Kings in the IPL. He was bought by the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL auction ahead of this season in February 2021.

The world’s no. 1 T20I batsman has been called up to the English Cricket Team for their third Test against India at Headingley, Leeds. He scored 70 runs in the first innings for England. After the end of the second day’s play of the third test at Leeds. Malan was asked some questions by the officials about the upcoming T20 World Cup as well as the remainder of the IPL 2021 which will be starting from September 19. The English batsman wants to play in both tournaments, but currently, he is focusing only on playing in the remaining matches of the IPL 2021.

“It’s quite a tough schedule. The only guarantee we have at the moment is IPL – we don’t know if we’re going to the World Cup and we don’t know if we’re going to the Ashes, so it leaves us in quite a tough situation,” Malan said in an interview after the end of the second day’s play to ANI.

The player further added that he is committed to IPL for now.

It is less than a month now for the 14th season of the Indian Premier League to start. Punjab Kings who are at the 6th position in the points table will be looking to finish in the top 4. Dawid Malan who joined the team this year can’t wait to get started again in the remaining matches of the IPL 2021.
