PSL dates announced, first match to be played in February

Pakistan Cricket Board on Friday announced that the next edition of the Pakistan Super League which is a domestic T20 tournament in Pakistan will be played in February. Star players from all around the globe eagerly participate in this tournament as it is one of the most famous leagues in the world.

The period of the tournament will be between February 20 to March 22 with the playoffs being played in Lahore. Only two cities will be hosting the entire tournament due to the COVID situation in Pakistan. The tournament is divided into two phases as in the first phase the matches will be played at Karachi and the latter half of the tournament will be played in Lahore. The playoffs will also be played in Lahore.

The PCB CEO also said that the decision on allowing fans will be taken after consulting with the Pakistani government. The mandatory procedure for the players will be to have a negative PCR test before arrival. Along with this, the players will again be tested on arrival. Two other tests will be done before the players are allowed to train with the squad.

The first match will be played between the defending champions Karachi Kings and the winners of the 2019 edition Quetta Gladiators.
