PSL: Azam Khan smashes incredible 42-ball 97 runs against father Moin Khan’s Quetta Gladiators

Azam Khan’s father is the head coach of Quetta Gladiators and Azam thanked his father for the support.

In their Pakistan Super League 2023 match, Islamabad United defeated the inefficient bowling attack of the Quetta Gladiators on Friday thanks to Azam Khan, who smashed a 42-ball 97 to propel his team to a total of 220 for 6. In his innings, Azam hit eight sixes and nine fours, including three consecutive sixes off Mohammad Hasnain in the 19th over.

Azam thanked his father Moin for believing in him after the inning for his abilities. Surprisingly Moin Khan is also the head coach for opposition team Quetta Gladiators.

“The way my father has supported me, it is special. A lot of people said I could not play, and that I would stay behind because of my father, but I am what I am because of him,” he said.

“To be honest, I knew I was in good form. I was batting well in the BPL and was trying to continue it. We were four wickets down and I was thinking of taking it deep. I have the belief that I can change the game at any moment… I practice range hitting so that I get a good idea about my strokes. T20 cricket is so fast at the moment and you need the acceleration at the right moment,” he said.
