Prithvi Shaw named as captain for Mumbai Ranji team ahead of the season

Prithvi Shaw has appointed as skipper for the Mumbai team in the Ranji trophy.

Ranji Trophy 2022 – After the bizarre performance in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Mumbai has set to begin another campaign of Ranji Trophy in January 2022. For the first two games, selectors have appointed Prithivi Shaw as skipper.

41-time winners Mumbai will commence their campaign against Maharashtra on January 13. And, the second game against Delhi was on January 20.

“A brilliant captain and exquisite opening batsman is there anything else team needs from the player,” Mumbai selector said to PTI

Yashasvi Jaiswal alongside Sarfaraz Khan, Arman Jaffer, and Aakarshit Gomel find themselves in the 20-man squad. Mumbai team has placed in Group C alongside the other nine teams. Even the experienced batter Aditya Tare has been included in the squad. The selection committee has included Shivam Dube in the team. Dube has played more than 13 T20ls and a single ODI game for team India.

The bowling attack has experienced Dhawal Kulkarni, Roystan Dias, and Mohit Awasthi. Selectors also put their faith over Arjun Tendulkar and are also included in the squad members. The spinner attack has Shams Mulani and Shashank Attard in the squad list.
