Before the IPL mega auction, the team has decided to retain 4 of its players which are Rishabh Pant their captain for 16 crores, Axar Patel the all-rounder for 9 crores, Prithvi Shaw the batsmen for 7.5 crores, and Anrich Nortje the bowler for 6 crores. And not retaining the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Kagiso Rabada, Shikhar Dhawan, and Ravi Chandran Ashwin.

The Assistant head coach Pravin Amre talked about the way Delhi Capitals would like to build the squad for IPL 2022 season in the IPL mega auction. The team Twitter handle posted a video of it on their social media platform.

HE said it’s going to be challenging with the two new teams in the auction and would like to build a balanced squad for the upcoming IPL season. The assistant coach said they have sorted the 4 key players for the squad and would like to buy the other 7 players in the auction which gives more balance to the squad.

He believes they need to be prepared very well for the auction as the auction is very dynamic in nature and unpredictable and be prepared for the worst situation. Amre believes it’s more important to build with the team which he gets after the auction and how they perform when they get on the field.

Delhi Capitals has a remaining purse of 47.5 crores to build their remaining team in the IPL mega auction which takes place on 12th and 13th February in Bengaluru.
