Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna was highly impressed by stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav for his impactful captaincy in the T20I series against Australia. Surya has helped the team take on an excellent lead of 2-0 in the series.
“I think it shows in the way he (Suryakumar) bats is very similar in his captaincy as well. He trusts his players, backs all of us to do what we want to do, and he’s there right behind us to support us if there’s anything going wrong,” said Krishna.
Krishna mentioned how Surya allows his team players to play freely, which is why everyone trusts everyone in the team.
“That’s been the name of the game, and then that’s the word around freedom: go and execute your plans out there, and everyone trusts each other in the team,” Krishna added.
India and Australia will lock horns again for the third T20I at Guwahati on Tuesday. It will be a challenge for the Aussies, as their third loss can cost them the entire series.
