Bangladeshi will be playing two-match T20I series against UAE. After the national team’s recent three-day training at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium from September 12–14 was postponed due to the country’s relentless rains, BCB decided to host the series. The series versus UAE will not feature Shakib al Hasan, who is currently competing for Guyana Amazon in the Caribbean Premier League. Chairman of the BCB cricket operation Jalal Yunus told Cricbuzz on Wednesday that Shakib was not available in the UAE. Later it was revealed that Nurul Hasan will captain the team against UAE, as he previously led the team in the T20I match against Zimbabwe before having to return home due to injury.
Minhajul Abedin, the head selector for the Bangladesh Cricket Board announced that the T20I team’s players will have to take a fitness test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Thursday before leaving the nation. ”The fitness test will be given in two groups with the first group scheduled at 8:30 AM and the second group at 9:30 AM. This Yo-Yo test is to see where they stand fitness wise before going to UAE,” said Minhajul.
