PCB want’s New Zealand to play two more T20Is during Pakistan Tour

In the 2021/22 season, the PCB is preparing to host a number of prominent teams, including New Zealand, England, the West Indies, and Australia.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has proposed that New Zealand Cricket play two more T20I matches in Pakistan before the World T20 Cup in the UAE later this year. During the tour, which will be New Zealand’s first to Pakistan since 2002, the team will play three One-Day Internationals and as many T20 matches in September and October.

“Yes negotiations are being held with Cricket New Zealand to play two additional T20 matches because of the World T20 Cup but nothing is finalized as yet,” a source said according to PTI.

In the 2021/22 season, the PCB is preparing to host a number of prominent teams, including New Zealand, England, the West Indies, and Australia. The West Indies will arrive in December, and Australia in February/March 2022. The tours have also put the PCB in a position where it may have to postpone the Pakistan Super League to April-May rather than the usual February 20-March 23 schedule.

Before the World Cup, England will tour Pakistan for the first time since 2005/06 for a short T20 series in October, followed by the West Indies and Australia.

Australia hasn’t played in Pakistan since 1998 and will send a scouting group there in September to evaluate arrangements for their upcoming tour. Due to security concerns following the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore in March 2009, no top-ranked Test team visited Pakistan between 2010 and 2018.
