Pakistan finally made their place in the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cop 2022 after a roller roster ride in the tournament. Barbara Azam and his boys had an upsetting start to the tournament after losing on the last ball with India and Zimbabwe.
Despite such a disappointing start, Pakistan will now face challenging New Zealand at Sydney for the semi-finals.
However, Pakistan made a strong comeback against the Netherlands by winning the match by six wickets. Winning a game by such a massively improved game also helped the team to regain their net run rate. As said before, it was Pak’s bowlers who gave the team an upper hand.
After winning to Netherlands, Pakistan was back in line and they knew they had to win against South Africa who defeated and ended India’s winning streak in the group stage. Pakistan’s strike seamer Shaheen Afridi dismantled South Africa’s batting line by picking up three wickets for just 14 runs.
Last but not the least, Pakistan’s another big win against Bangladesh by 5 wickets and South Africa’s defeat against Netherlands made a big difference in the points table. Pakistan who seemed to be out of the tournament jumped to become the semi-finalist along with their rival arch India.
Where Pakistan will face Kane Williamson and his men in at the Sydney Cricket Ground, India will face the World Cup favourites England in the semi-finals.
