Pakistan’s participation is still in doubt

The World Cup 2023 is about to begin in the month of October and this time it is hosted by India, but there is still one team whose participation is not yet confirmed. The team whose participation is not yet cleared is the team Pakistan who has qualified directly for the World Cup 2023.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not yet been given clearance from the Pakistan Government for the World Cup 2023. For the security of the Pakistan team, PCB might send a security team for the assessment of the venues where the Pakistan team will be playing in the World Cup.

The Pakistan team will play on October 6 at Hyderabad, October 12 at Hyderabad, October 15 at Ahmedabad, October 20 at  Bengaluru, October 23 at Chennai, October 27 at Chennai, October 21 at Kolkata, November 5 at Bengaluru, November 12 at Kolkata. The PCB might assess all the venues and if they find that the venue should be shifted, they will send a report to ICC and BCCI and they will take action based on the report.

The participation of the Pakistan team will happen only if the government approves and give them clearance. It is a standard practice for all sports teams to take clearance from the government of their respective states before participating in other countries.

As per reports one of the PCB spokespersons said that.”We are liaising with our government for guidance, and as soon as we hear something from them, we will update the Event Authority (ICC)”.
