PAK vs ENG: Moeen Ali likely to replace regular captain Jos Buttler for the leading role

Moeen Ali will captain England when they travel to Pakistan for the first time in 17 years. Because of his injury, Jos Buttler, the team’s regular captain, is unlikely to be ready when the tour officially begins next month. The Guardian reports that Moeen Ali will take over as England’s captain in the historic series since Butler is injured.

In a seven-match Twenty20 international series, England will face Pakistan in preparation for the T20 World Cup in Australia in October. The newspaper claims that Moeen is the front-runner to lead England.

On September 14, two days after the anticipated conclusion of the third Test match between South Africa and England at the Oval, the team would depart for Pakistan.
