Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique, Pakistan’s opening pair, continue to play well as they surpass 200 runs in the first session of Day 3 of the Rawalpindi Test, giving England a tough response. Imam and Abdullah both scored individual hundreds to keep the innings going and help Pakistan to reach England’s challenging total of 657 runs. But with over 400 runs under trail, Pakistan has to boost their innings as the test ends in just 2 days.
Earlier, in the first innings of the first Test in Rawalpindi, England scored 657/10, their highest-ever Test total against Pakistan. England became the first side to ever score at least 500 runs on the first day of a Test when they reached 506 runs on Day 1. The previous best for England versus Pakistan in a Test match was 598/9d, set in Abu Dhabi in 2015.
