Seven years ago, on this day in 2014, Rohit played his one of the biggest ODI match against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens and made that day historical in cricket world. Rohit’s record breaking innings of 264 runs is still remains the highest score by any batter in limited overs till date.
Rohit played his record breaking innings at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, in that he smashed 33 stunning fours and 9 towering sixes includes. In cricket world Rohit popularly known as ‘Hitman’, registered the highest individual score and beat the record compatriot Virendra Sehwag’s 219. The Indian opener Rohit took 173 balls to break record. Rohit is only batsman to reach three double centuries.
Out of 264 runs Rohit made 186 runs only by fours .India went to total of 404/5 in the 50 overs and later restricted Sri Lanka to 251 and won the forth match.
