It was a nail biting encounter between Pakistan & South Africa at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. South Africa seemed to have a comfortable win at one point of time were put under immense pressure by Pakistan bowlers. South Africa somehow managed to win the game by one wicket leaving Babar Azam and his men disappointed.
“We are very close, we did not finish well. Very disappointing for the whole team. We fought back very well,” said Babar.
He also appreciated how his bowlers did a great job and they would have won the match if the batting unit could have put 10-15 more runs on the board.
” In the batting we were 10-15 short. The fast bowlers and spinners fought well but unfortunately it was not to be,” Azam added.
Pakistan has to do exception well in their remaining three games to keep themselves alive in the race of the ODI World Cup 2023. Whereas, South Africa continues to rule the top of the table.
