Natural aggression when it comes to batting: Man of the Series Mitchell Marsh

The Australian cricket team won the third and final one-day international (ODI) series against India by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday, March 22nd, at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. The Australian team was outstanding in this three-game series in India. Australia are the new No.1 team in the ODIs overtaking India after a series win over them. This will boost Aussies’ confidence especially when the ODI World Cup is very near.

Marsh at No. 3 in the national T20 side demonstrated a masterstroke a few years ago, and now the Australian selectors should be commended for identifying the right-hander as an ODI opener.

The powerful West Australian top-scored for Australia in all three One-Day Internationals against India. He hit 81 and 66 not out in Wankhede and Visakhapatnam, respectively, clearing the boundary rope 12 times for a series strike rate of 131.08.

He’s made a strong case to bat first in the World Cup, potentially putting pressure on David Warner at the top of the order.

Mitchell Marsh | Player of the Series: Natural aggression when it comes to batting. It’s been a lot of fun. (On Opening) I’ve got my little mate (Warner) who’ll come back at some stage. I’m coming off an extended break, worked on a lot of things. Came here really fresh. It’s been great. Hopefully I can have fun with Delhi (Capitals) as well.
