Bangladesh allrounder Nasir Hossain has been handed a two-year ban from all cricket by the ICC for violating the Emirates Cricket Board’s Anti-Corruption Code during the 2020-21 Abu Dhabi T10 League. The ban comes into effect immediately and will last until April 7, 2025, making Hossain eligible to resume playing international cricket after the stipulated period.
Hossain was among eight individuals associated with the Pune Devils franchise charged by the ICC in September 2023. Accepting the three charges leveled against him, he received a two-year ban, with six months suspended.
One of the charges pertains to Hossain’s failure to promptly disclose the receipt of a gift exceeding US$750—an iPhone 12. The second charge revolves around his failure to provide comprehensive details about an approach or invitation to engage in corrupt conduct related to the new iPhone 12.
