
Munaf Patel has established himself as one of the fastest seam bowlers in the Indian cricket team.
Munaf represented India in all three formats, and he is a native of Ikhar, Gujarat. In addition to more than 70 One Day Internationals, the World Cup-winning bowler played 13 Tests and three Twenty-20 Internationals. Munaf won the Man of the Match award in the second One Day International of the three-match series between South Africa and India. Munaf scalped four wickets with 29 runs conceded in his eight overs while the victory was almost impossible for the visitors.
In the 2011 World Cup league match, Munaf Patel carried India to victory over Bangladesh with a brilliant performance. With his 10-048-4 figures, Munaf brought momentum back into the Indian camp. The Indians won by a massive margin of 87 runs.
It was a grand day for Munaf Patel with India against England as he bowled magic with the ball in the second Test of their three-match series. In the finest spell of his Test career, the seamer helped India to the victory by nine wickets. Munaf then took four wickets in the third innings while only conceding 25 runs, a stunning performance.
Munaf put on his best performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) against Kings XI Punjab during the 2011 edition. The Indian seamer, playing for the Mumbai Indians, picked up as many as five wickets in the first innings against the opposition. However, Mumbai’s batsmen crumbled at 87 to secure a loss despite the pacer’s efforts.
