Irfan Pathan commends Jasprit Bumrah’s commitment to Test cricket post back surgery, asserting that the longevity of the format thrives when teams have dedicated bowlers like him.
“I have fallen in love with Jasprit Bumrah’s attitude, especially the way he has bowled after back surgery. He is not only an inspiration for Indian cricket but also for world cricket,” Said Irfan Pathan.
In the recently concluded two-match series against South Africa, Bumrah made an impactful return to Test cricket after his surgery. The unconventional seamer claimed 12 wickets, emerging as the highest wicket-taker in the series.
“If you are prioritizing red-ball cricket even after surgery, you won’t get a bigger brand ambassador than him in bowling. If every country gets a bowler like Jasprit Bumrah, Test cricket will keep flourishing.” Irfan added.
In the first Test at Centurion, Bumrah took four wickets in South Africa’s only innings. Although his performance in the initial innings of the second Test in Cape Town was less prominent, he staged a remarkable comeback in the second innings, securing figures of 6/61 and contributing to India’s successful dismissal of the hosts for 176.
