Mohammad Rizwan and Haider Ali shine as Pakistan beat West Indies in the first T20I

Pakistan cricket team is currently leading the 3 matches T20I series against West Indies by 1-0 after a thumping victory over Nicholas Pooran’s men in the first one.

Pakistan defeated West Indies by a margin of 63 runs in the first T20I which was played at ‘National Stadium’ in Pakistan. It was a great performance by the Pakistanis as they were totally dominating in this game with the bat as well as the ball. Except for the toss, nothing was in the favor of Nicholas Pooran’s men as he was been named the captain for this 3 match T20I series. It was not a good display of performance by the visitors as they were completely lacking composure and confidence and didn’t look favorites to win this match at any point in this game.

WI won the toss and decided to field first, but this decision from Pooran didn’t prove to be a good one as opening batsman Mohammad Rizwan scored 72 runs from just 52 balls. Despite, West Indies got Pakistan skipper Babar Azam out on 0, it was not a very good bowling display from the bowlers. Pakistan’s middle-order batsman named Haider Ali made a great partnership with opener Rizwan and also scored 68 runs in just 39 balls. He was given the man of the match award because of his amazing innings which included 6 fours and 4 sixes in it. Later, Mohammad Nawaz’s power innings helped Pakistan reach the 200-run mark.

West Indies batsmen were clearly lacking balance and they weren’t able to stay at the crease for long. The Pakistani bowlers were also at their best as they didn’t let any batsman score more than 40 runs and also got some out on single digits. At last, WI could only reach the score of 137 as they were bowled out by Pakistan’s bowlers. West Indies cricket team are here in Pakistan for 3 T20I’s. The second T20I will be played on Tuesday and the last one is scheduled to be played on Thursday.
