In an eventful moment during the second day of the Ashes 2nd Test between England and Australia, Harry Brook received a reprieve as Marnus Labuschagne dropped a straightforward catch. Pat Cummins delivered a short ball aimed at Brook’s body, who attempted a powerful pull shot.
Unfortunately for Brook, he could only manage to hit it straight to Labuschagne positioned at square leg. However, Labuschagne misjudged the pace of the ball and went for a reverse cup catch. The ball ended up deflecting off his wrists and to his right, resulting in a missed opportunity.
It was a clear chance that Labuschagne would have expected to take, given the simplicity of the catch. The dropped catch allowed Brook to add one more run to his tally, extending his stay at the crease.
