India A wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel continues to impress with the bat, scoring centuries in both innings of the ongoing unofficial Test against South Africa A at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. His consistent run of form has now sparked conversations about his inclusion in the upcoming India vs South Africa Test series, beginning November 14 in Kolkata.

Veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took to social media to applaud Jurel’s stellar performance, saying,

“Dhruv Jurel is making it very hard for the coach and captain to drop him from the Test match coming up. 100s in both innings of the unofficial test against SA ‘A’. #INDvSA.”

Jurel, who already has a Test half-century to his name from his debut series earlier this year, has made a strong case for himself as India’s preferred wicketkeeper-batter option. His twin tons have showcased both composure and attacking intent against a quality South African pace attack.
