LPL: Lanka Premier League gets its first centurion as the Kings set a decent total on board

The 18th match of LPL is underway as the Colombo Kings take on Jaffna Stallions at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium in Hambantota. The Stallions won the toss and their captain Thisara Perera elected to bowl first. The Jaffna Stallions got the start they wanted as they were successful in not conceding much runs and the pressure got on the batsman which costed them in giving away their wicket. Dinesh Chandimal ended his painfully slow knock when he tried to hit it over the fielder at long on. Chandimal scored 11 off 13 deliveries in his slow knock.

Laurie Evans, the right handed opener from England stayed at the crease till the end to ensure a fighting total for the team. He was well supported by his captain Mathews and Russell at the end to get team past 170. Russell scored 21 off 14 deliveries to provide a momentum to the team. Laurie Evans ended his innings on 108 off 65 deliveries which has 9 boundaries and 5 sixes.

The team ended on 173 for loss of 4 wickets at end of their 20 overs. Laurie Evans remained not out till the end and made sure the total went beyond 170. The Stallions will have a tough chase as the Kings have a fabulous bowling line up.
