Despite scoring 336 runs after they were put in to bat by England in the second ODI on Friday, India went on to lose the match with 39 balls to spare. That was the kind of power-hitting that England displayed as their batsmen hit 20 sixes on the day.
England chased down the Indian target of 337 runs in just 43.3 overs as Jonny Bairstow (124 off 112) and Ben Stokes (99 off 52) attacked the Indian spinners in particular.
Kuldeep Yadav parted with 84 runs in his 10 overs while Krunal Pandya was hit for 72 runs in only 6 overs. That is 156 runs in 16 overs that the Indian spinners surrendered without taking a wicket.
Previous India cricketer Madan Lal communicated frustration on the exhibition of the Indian bowlers and said that Team India didn’t play their best two spinners on the day.
“At the point when Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow got rolling, the Indian spinners at that point – Krunal Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav – didn’t bowl well. I have never seen the spinners bowl so inadequately in any type of cricket ever.
“Every bowler gets hit (by the batsmen), but if you have to get hit, at least, let them be good deliveries, that way there will be chances for the bowlers, but you should not be bowling such poor deliveries. I don’t think India played their best two spinners in the match,” Madan Lal told Sports Tak.
He additionally added that Kuldeep Yadav doesn’t appear to have the sort of variety and power over his bowling that he did when he burst onto the international stage. Madan Lal felt that Kuldeep bowled too some short-pitched conveyances on Friday.
