Kieron Pollard led West Indies to victory against South Africa in 4th T20I

West Indies limited-overs skipper Kieron Pollard leads from the front as West Indies defeats South Africa by 21 runs to equalize the five-match T20I series at 2-2 on Thursday. When West Indies was sent to bat for his team at the National Cricket Stadium in Grenada, the team were set the target of 167 runs with the loss of six wickets in 20 overs, before restricting South Africa for 146 with the loss of nine wickets in reply.

The skipper played a late onslaught to smash 51 runs off 25 balls which includes five sixes, to boost the home side total after they had again been slowed by South Africa’s spin-twin threat of Tabraiz Shamshi who took two wickets and conceded 13 runs in four overs and George Linde who took two wickets with conceding 16 runs in four overs. The opener Lendl Simmons contributed to his nation side by knocking 47 runs off 34 balls.

In the fightback, Quinton-de-Cock smashed 60 runs off 43 balls but didn’t get much support as the West Indies team changed the pace from their seamers which were mind-blowing. The skipper took one wicket by conceding 24 runs in four overs alongside Dwayne Bravo took spending four wickets with conceding 19 runs. After West Indies levelled the series, the final match will be played at the same venue on Saturday.
