Key aspects for India, Australia and England to focus on in order to make it to WTC finals

India
After defeating Australia in Gabba test series India has moved to the top of the table with a points percentage 71.67, currently with New Zealand at the second place. Out of 120 in the fourth home series against England, India needs 80 more points to stay ahead of New Zealand’s 70.
They can get there with 2-0 series win but if they lose even one test in that series, they will need to win three. However, 28 wins one loss in 34 tests – is the given home record of India.

Australia
The unexpected defeat against has reduced the chances for Australia of making the top two. Australia’s percentage has dropped to 69.2 and now they need 89 points from the three test series against South Africa which has not confirmed yet. They can only make it happen if they win atleast 2 test and draw the third by which they will get 93 points in the series.
This defeat has also brought sharp focus to those four points which they dropped in Melbourne due to slow over rate. Currently Australia’s ratio is 1.39 while New Zealand’s is 1.28 which means Australia would have stayed ahead of New Zealand if they haven’t dropped those four points.

England
England’s win in Galle has brought them into the light as well, but they need to win second test against Sri Lanka to go past the New Zealand and have to beat India 3-0
