KL Rahul, India’s captain, has been ruled out of the five-match T20I series against South Africa due to injury. Meanwhile, the team will be expected to led by vice-captain Rishabh Pant.

“KL is out for the whole series, and Rishabh Pant, who is the designated deputy, will lead the team,” a senior BCCI official told PTI. Now that Rahul is out, India will begin the batting with Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan.

Rahul recently captained the Lucknow Super Giants to the IPL 2022 playoffs, averaging 51.33 runs in 15 games. Despite some criticism for his low strike rate, he smashed two hundred and four half centuries in the league and remained in excellent form.

The T20 series will be played with no limits on audience capacity, since the BCCI has approved a crowd capacity of 100 percent. In addition, there will be no bio-bubble. The players, on the other hand, would be subjected to frequent Covid-19 testing.
