Jofra Archer, Rory Burns, Ben Stokes begin training in Chennai as visitors clear second Covid-19 test

England all-rounder Ben Stokes, pace spearhead Jofra Archer and batsman Rory Burns begin their training on Saturday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium for the upcoming Test series against India.

While the other members of the squad cleared their second covid-19 test, the trio successfully cleared their three RT-PCR tests and completed six days of hard quarantine as they reached India earlier.

Stokes, Archer and Burns were not a part of the squad that played against Sri Lanka as Stokes and Archer were rested and Burns skipped the tour due to the birth of his first child.

“The first group of players – Archer, Burns and Stokes – will practice each morning for the next three days. They are limited to a two-hour session. The entire England touring party received their second PCR COVID-19 test yesterday. All results returned negative results,” said England’s media manager Danny Reuben.

The entire England squad is expected to start it training from February 2, ahead of the opener against India, starting from February 5, 2021.

The first two games would be held in Chennai, while the third and fourth test would be held in Ahmedabad. India and England are set to lock horns in four Tests, three ODIs and five T20Is.
