Joe Root remained England captain while batting coach sacked

Despite the bizarre end of Ashes series for England team by 4-0. The cricket board has decided to retain Joe Root as a captain for upcoming West Indies series. While the batting coach Graham Thorpe has been sacked.

England Cricket – Joe Root has had the most complete cricketing year 2021 where he had been on a completely different planet with his batting performance. It started against Sri Lanka in January 2021 and till the last test match of the Ashes series Joe Root had enjoyed enough success in his batting.

Despite some impactful knocks, the team performance of England had disastrous against most of the cricket playing nations. The England cricket board has decided to stay with the regular captain Joe Root for the upcoming series. While the batting coach has sacked Graham Thorpe.

Along with Thorpe head coach Ashley Giles and Chris, Silver wood has also left the England cricket association. After the bizarre performance in the Ashes series 2021. While for the upcoming series against West Indies the Former England opener Andrew Strauss has been appointed as the caretaker coach.

While appointed as caretaker coach Strauss replied,

“My role is to help prepare the team for the West Indies series and to recommend some structural changes and help Tom Harrison with the recruitment of the roles, including the new managing director of England cricket. However long it takes I’m prepared to play that role.”

England will begin the West Indies series on March 8.
