Jasprit Bumrah starts rehab at NCA after successful back surgery

Bumrah has not played any cricket since September 2022, when he withdrew from the home white-ball series against South Africa due to a stress reaction in his lower back. He attempted a comeback in January this year for the home series against Sri Lanka, but he had to pull out due to niggles in his back. As a result, he missed out on the ongoing IPL 2023 and the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia, which starts on June 7 at The Oval.

India’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has commenced his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru after successfully undergoing back surgery in New Zealand last month. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that Bumrah is “pain-free” and on track to regain full fitness in time for the home ODI World Cup, which is scheduled to begin on October 5.

The board has put together a comprehensive rehabilitation plan to help Bumrah regain his strength and form. The fast bowler will be under the watchful eye of the NCA’s medical team, who will monitor his progress and adjust his rehabilitation program accordingly.
