Bumrah also achieved the distinction of being the Indian bowler with the lowest average to reach the milestone of 100 test wickets. Bumrah earned this record when he dismissed Ollie Pope for a duck during the 4th day of the India vs England Test match going on at the Oval in the 65th over of England’s 2nd innings. He currently has a bowling average of 22.45 which is the lowest among all the bowlers who have taken over a century of wickets, with the second being Ravichandran Ashwin whose average stood at 24.56 when he took his 100th test wicket.

Bumrah started with 97 wickets to his name before the start of the 4th test. He has brought India back in this test a few times by taking important wickets during the crucial stages of the match. He took two early wickets during the first innings of the test and bowled one with extra bounce which moved inwards after it was pitched and Burns was dragged back to his stumps. Hameed got one on the off stump that climbed on him and he was forced to slash it which lead to Rishabh Pant taking a catch which led to 99 wickets for Bumrah.
