
The President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly, has congratulated the Indian women’s cricket team on their silver medal in the 2018 Commonwealth Games. However, he also stated that the team would be sad if they did not win gold because it was “their game.” India was defeated by Australia by 9 runs in the gold medal match in Edgbaston, Birmingham, after failing to chase down 162.

Team India lost to Australia in the Commonwealth Games final after failing to chase a 162-run total and were bowled out in 152 runs. The close match favoured yellow supremacy, and the Aussies won the gold medal.
