Ishan Kishan hits 28-ball fifty on debut, India storm towards 100

After the bowlers kept England from getting away, India’s chase off 165 did not start in the fashion they would have liked as left-arm pacer Sam Curran bowled a maiden wicket over to start things off for England and got the scalp of KL Rahul.

However, Ishan Kishan, who opened his T20I account with a leg glance off Jofra Archer for a boundary, took charge from then on in with a whirlwind half-century on debut before being dismissed for 56 by Adil Rashid.

Having opted to field first, India made the perfect start as Bhuvneshwar Kumar struck within the first three deliveries of the game. Kumar trapped Jos Buttler LBW for a first ball duck.

Despite the early wicket, both Jason Roy and Dawid Malan tried to force the issue but struggled as the bowlers found some good lines and lengths.
