Irfan Pathan, probably the best new-ball bowler for India, arrived in Sri-Lanka for the upcoming inaugural season of Lanka Premier League (LPL). After retiring from all forms of international for India. Pathan has inked a contract to play for the LPL franchise Kandy Tuskers. The tournament begins from 26th November. The tournament opener will witness, Colombo, taking on Kandy Tuskers at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota.

after announcing his retirement earlier this year, Pathan is all set to start his new cricketing journey with his new franchise. the former all-rounder will be playing with decorated cricketers like Chris Gayle, Liam Plunkett and with others star Sri-Lankans Kusal Perera, Kusal Mendis and Nuwan Pradeep in his side.
The LPL has five teams, competing for the trophy, Colombo, Kandy, Galle, Dambulla and Jaffna. With 23 matches to be played by December 16. Every day two matches will be played. before the semi-finals on December 13-14. The final will be played on December 16.
