Rohit Sharma shares his thoughts on Chennai Super Kings ahead of the opening match in IPL 2020

Indian cricket is returning after a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic. With the Indian Premier League, the BCCI is set to begin cricket with all the necessary precautions. IPL is one of the most viewed sporting events globally and cricket fans have been waiting eagerly for the 13th season of the tournament to begin. After being suspended in April the league is finally happening six moths late in UAE. Due to the rising concerns around COVID-19 IPL had to shift out of India.

The opening match of the season is very special as the finalists of the last season begin the league. This year the opener is being played between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Both the teams are favourites of the audience and it is an intense show of cricket. Rohit Sharma the skipper of the defending champions MI said: “You can’t take them for granted, they have some of the best players on their side and are a good team”.

Chennai Super Kings have won the title thrice while MI overtake them by one extra win which came last year after an intense final over victory. With both teams eyeing a win in their first match of the campaign, it will be an interesting game of cricket for the audience to witness. The IPL is being played in three cities of the Emirates: Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. the final will be played on 10th November 2020.
