Mumbai Indians fielded two debutants in their playing XI against Gujarat Titans in their first match. Shams Mulani and Naman Dhir are the two debutants featuring in MI’s playing XI. Shams Mulani, a 27-years-old left-arm orthodox spinner, has played for Mumbai team in Ranji trophy. Before being given a contract by Mumbai Indians, he was a part of Delhi Capitals. Interestingly, the left-arm orthodox spinner has helped Mumbai Indians as a net bowler during IPL 2020 campaign.
One of the most memorable achievements of Shams Mulani is his first class record in Ranji trophy. The bowler has scalped 46 wickets for Mumbai team in Ranji Trophy between 2022 and 2023 season. He bagged 31 wickets in 2024 edition. The bowler holds a phenomenal record in domestic cricket in India. He made his Twenty 20 debut for Mumbai in 2017-18 zonal T20 league. The bowler has also captained India A’s squad 2018-19 Deodhar trophy followed by captaining Indian team in 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup.
