
In a jaw-dropping moment during the IPL 2025 clash between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants, 14-year-old debutant Vaibhav Suryavanshi etched his name into history by becoming the youngest player ever to debut in the league — and did it in style.
Facing his first ball at just 14 years and 23 days old, Suryavanshi showed zero nerves as he launched Shardul Thakur for a six over cover. It wasn’t just the crowd that was stunned — even the commentators were left in awe. Aakash Chopra, reacting live, exclaimed, “Waah GenZ ke player! Yeh toh Gen Z shot tha.”
The ball, pitched on a good length around off, was carved effortlessly over cover. Even Rishabh Pant and Thakur were caught by surprise as the fearless youngster announced himself on the big stage.
